The Sustainable Commodity Assistance Network (SCAN) is seeking a National Platform Coordinator and a Project Coordinator to manage the national level activities of a technical assistance project for a duration of a year of the remaining project implementation period, to promote sustainable agriculture (centered in the coffee sector) in Peru. On 26 September 2012, the “Sustainable Development Model for Peruvian Coffee” Non-refundable Technical Cooperation Agreement ATN / PE-M1082 was signed between the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Junta Nacional del Café (JNC). The project will be implemented by the JNC in coordination with the SCAN Peru National Platform and SCAN International.
The goal of the project is to contribute to the economic sustainability of coffee farmers in Peru. The objective of the project is to implement a system of comprehensive improvement in quality and productivity, harmonized nationally, for coffee farming organizations in 9 departments in Peru, including 37 coffee organizations and a total of approximately 3,000 small farmers.
Both the position of National Platform Coordinator and Project Coordinator are aimed at nationals and residents of Peru. Both positions are based in Lima, Peru and work directly from the offices of one of SCAN’s local partners (Junta Nacional del Café).
General requirements include university experience and / or practice in the field of technical assistance and / or sustainable agriculture, and proven experience in the coffee sector and / or work related to sustainable agriculture. Please apply only if you meet these requirements.
