The SCAN Peru national platform has been working for 6 years to support the transition towards the sustainability of Peruvian coffee production. In this context, this website is a strategic tool for the dissemination of knowledge, information and methodologies that support technical assistance and producers to improve the quality of life of coffee farmers and to strengthen farmer organizations.
The focus of the website is on best practices to promote sustainable agriculture.
Some of the services offered by this website are highlighted as follows:
- A map viewer that articulates different layers of information about the country: climate, geography, and other information, with information from the farms where good agricultural practices for sustainable production are being implemented in different regions.
- Coffee value chain viewer with detailed information on every stage of the coffee process and where the user can download training materials to support quality technical assistance for sustainable agriculture.
- Discussion forums where trainers and promoters can interact and a virtual space for training courses in the future.
The pre-launch of the website was held on Tuesday, October 13th at the Casa Andina Select Hotel with the participation of representatives of SCAN Peru member institutions and distinguished managers and public and private institution officials. The website is scheduled for completion in December.
