SCAN was presented by the CDC (Community Development Centre), an information portal supporting sustainable agriculture development, in the 5th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2015, from 10-11 March 2015. The CDC presented its program called “Mobile Help Desks” during the Coffee Festival.
Sponsors for the program included the National Agriculture Extension Center, Solidaridad, UTZ Certified, Danida, GCF, SECO, SCAN, Vietnam Productivity Institute, VSCB Vietnam, and the Agriculture and Rural Television channel 3NTV-VTC16.
The activities of the Mobile Help Desk program included answering farmers’ questions on issues regarding the cultivation of coffee, cocoa, pepper and other crops. With the practical activities of the Mobile Help Desk, the program has attracted nearly 5000 participants, in which hundreds of questions from farmers were sent to the program. Because time was limited, the consultants only answered some questions related to the key issues in cultivation by the farmers. The program also included a gift for the farmers who had questions associated with actual production.
Although only for two days, the Mobile Help Desk partially met the needs of farmers in accessing knowledge and new techniques on agricultural production.
