The 2014 SSI Review is led by a consortium of implementing partners (ENTWINED, IDH, IIED, FAST and IISD) and funders (SECO and NORAD). Together, this influential group provides management depth and global outreach capacity. Further contributing to the Review process is an advisory panel consisting of trade and sustainability experts from the public, private and NGO sectors. Through collaboration with multiple partners, the SSI assembles comparable data on an ongoing basis, enabling more informed decision-making, learning and harmonized reporting.
Additional key partnerships that have emerged from the SSI to date include:
The International Social and Environmental Accreditation Alliance (ISEAL) facilitates communication with standard-setting bodies, dissemination of the SSI and guidance on the development of the SSI indicators.
The International Trade Center T4SD (ITC) and the SSI worked together in the development of the T4SD indicator set, allowing for harmonized and shared data collection processes. The SSI and ITC are committed to developing harmonized indicator and data collection protocols moving forward.
The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) is the world leader in data collection on organic products. The SSI and FiBL have entered into a partnership for co-development of market indicators and sharing of data collection processes.
The Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA) promotes sustainability in agriculture with credible and globally comparable information based on quantifiable evidence from actual practice. The SSI is working closely with COSA to develop impact trend reporting for future SSI Review editions.
